August 25th, 2025 – El Palmar Paradise, Baja California

On August 25, 2025, something truly magical happened at El Palmar Paradise. Palm trees swayed, water slides sparkled, and the sound of children’s laughter echoed through the air as nearly 180 children and mothers from orphanages and safe houses gathered for a day they’ll never forget.
Every summer, Baja Angels hosts an event to bring joy, hope, and connection to children who deserve moments of pure happiness. Last 2 years, our summer event was organized at La Salina Beach, Baja California. This year, it was El Palmar Paradise—a place that became a playground of joy, thanks to our 27 tireless volunteers, generous donors, and the loving Salceda Family who opened their gates with open arms.
The Children: Smiles that Lit Up the Day ✨
From the moment the buses arrived, the children’s eyes lit up at the sight of the bright blue pools, giant inflatable unicorns, and flamingo floaties waiting for them. Many of them had never been to a water park before—and you could see the wonder in every splash and squeal of excitement.
Little groups quickly formed: some raced to the slides, others floated lazily in the pool, while many jumped right into the games our team had prepared. Their smiles told the whole story—this was more than just fun. It was freedom. It was childhood at its best.
The Volunteers: Angels in Action 😇
Entertainment and Engagement
It takes a village to create a day like this—and our 27 volunteers poured every ounce of love, patience, and creativity into it.
Baja Angels’ own Art Director Lili Noden, who also leads the Invisible Roots Youth Arts Fund, designed over a dozen games and activities—each one sparking giggles and playful competition. Children rolled lemons across the ground in the Lemon Race, struggled to catch balloons in oversized Granny Pants, tossed balls into the Monster’s Mouth and Raced with Rafts in the water.
Even when the games ended, the fun didn’t stop. Volunteers cheered the kids on at the slides, joined them in the pool, and sat with them at the arts-and-crafts tables where beads, crayons, and scissors turned into colorful creations. What made the day unforgettable wasn’t just the activities—it was the way every volunteer gave their full heart.
Community Love 💙
Pulling off a day like this takes more than time and energy—it takes community. Thanks to 28 donations totaling $2,245 USD, and the kindness of sponsors including Jersey Milk, El Palmar Paradise, Synergy Arts Foundation and Pastor Jesse Cisneros with Victory in Jesus Church, the event was fully supported. Every floaty, every snack, every splash was a gift made possible by someone who cared.
As the Salceda Family said:
“We saw the children running, laughing, and truly enjoying themselves. The Baja Angels team was very organized, taking care of every detail to bring more and more smiles! … Yes, we agree to continue hosting and welcome you next year! Thank you, thank you, thank you.”
A Founder’s Heartfelt Words 🌟
At the end of the day, as the children packed up—sun-kissed, a little tired, but glowing with happiness—our founder shared a simple but powerful message with the volunteers:
“I had the privilege of saying goodbye to almost all of the children and mothers, and I can still feel the joy and happiness they expressed—a little sunburned but shining with unforgettable smiles of gratitude. ❤
Please know that none of this would have been possible without you. Alone, there’s only so much one person can do, but together, you created something unforgettable. Thank you for making this summer camp a day they will never forget.”
The Magic Lives On 🌴☀️
One day may not change the world, but for these children, it was everything. It was proof that they are loved, that they matter, and that joy belongs to them, too.

🌴 What’s Next: Roots United for Youth 🎶
The joy doesn’t stop here. Our next gathering will be the United Roots Music Festival, happening October 10–12th, 2025 at Las Rocas Resort & Spa in Rosarito Beach.
This three-day celebration, themed “Roots United for Youth”, will feature an incredible lineup of reggae and roots performers from around the world (see the full line-up here: unitedrootsmusicfestival.com). Beyond the music, the heart of the festival is its mission—to raise support for the very children and women we serve through Baja Angels.
